  • Please note that the software license cost alone for Microsoft Windows 7 is between $99 and $199. You could always try an alternative Operating System to Windows, such as linux, which has no license cost and is free (most distributions anyway).

    Also, please keep in mind that the cost alone for a Microsoft Office software liscense is between $99 and $249 (depending on the suite), or you could try OpenOffice which is a free, open source alternative.

    Regarding anti-virus software, River Net Computers recommends either Microsoft Security Essentials or Avast, both of which are free. River Net does not recommend Norton Anti-Virus.
